Dr. Olexa Chewpa, DC, BHK.

Dr. Olexa Chewpa is a Doctor of Chiropractic who earned a Bachelor of Human Kinetics at University of Ottawa and then went on to complete his doctorate in Chiropractic at New York Chiropractic College. He is passionate about the nervous system and how it is affected in various conditions involving trauma and movement disorders. Along with his doctorate, he is also a member of IAFNR and is certified in the Melillo Method, a methodology that focuses on the treatment and adaptation of the brain using therapeutic exercise and other modalties that target specific areas of the nervous system to improve the body-brain connection. These methods are great for improving postural control, proprioception, and reducing the frequency of injuries. Dr. Olexa has a rich background in sports and is passionate about helping his patients recover from all kinds of sports related trauma and injuries.

During his time in practice, Olexa has become increasingly aware of the importance of patient education and a doctor-patient partnership that allows for both parties to have a comprehensive understanding of their mutual goals for the treatment. This is why Dr. Olexa places an emphasis on his own continued education so that he is able to be a reliable source of information and knowledge for his patients.

Dr. Olexa spends his free time trail running, cycling, and skiing with friends and family in the Ottawa/Gatineau region. When he’s not outside exploring the trails he is often reading up on the latest literature in the fields of wellness, longevity and neurology, more often than not with a fire nearby!
